Team Florida to have invitation-only workout



Team Florida of the new All American Football League will have an invitation-only workout Saturday at Citizens Field.

The public is invited to watch approximately 140 players work out for Florida coach Shane Matthews and his staff. Former UF standouts Travis McGriff, Chris Leak, Steve Rissler, Fred Weary and Chris Doering are expected to attend.

“We're going to take a look at these guys and decide which ones we want to take to camp,” Matthews said. The tryout will help Team Florida decide how many players it will take in the draft.

The workout will begin at 8 a.m. and will last until 5 p.m. with the first cuts coming after lunch.
