Bears to kick off 2008 preseason by hosting Chiefs
The Bears announced Thursday that they will open their 2008 preseason schedule by hosting the Kansas City Chiefs the weekend of Aug. 7-11 at Soldier Field.
The Bears will then visit the Seattle Seahawks the weekend of Aug. 14-18 before hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. in a nationally-televised game on Fox.
Chicago will then conclude its preseason slate against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, Aug. 28 or Friday, Aug. 29.
The preseason games against the Chiefs, Seahawks and Browns will be telecast on the Chicago Bears Network. Dates and times of those contests will be announced later this month.
The Bears had a 3-1 preseason record last year, beating the Texans, Colts and 49ers before losing to the Browns.
The NFL regular-season schedule also will be revealed later this month. The Bears already know that they will open the season Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football in the first game at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.
In addition to home and away games against NFC North rivals Detroit, Green Bay and Minnesota, the Bears will host Jacksonville, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Tennessee; and visit Atlanta, Carolina, Houston and St. Louis in addition to Indianapolis.
