BEARS SIGN RESTRICTED FREE AGENT DAVIS
The Chicago Bears announced the signing of restricted free agent wide receiver Rashied Davis today. Davis signed his one-year tender offer from the Bears. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Davis has hauled in 39 receptions for 468 yards and two touchdowns the last two seasons for the Bears after spending his first season in Chicago (2005) as a reserve cornerback and return man. The San Jose State product has appeared in 44 career NFL contests and has 1,172 yards on 55 kickoff returns and 31 yards on five punt returns. Davis ranked fifth on the Bears in 2007 with 11 special teams tackles and has 29 in his three-year career. Originally Davis came to Chicago as an unrestricted free agent in 2005 after spending four years in the Arena Football League.
